1. In specific societies, the conversation is direct and to the point, instruction is clear and people focus on objectives rather than relationships. While in diffuse societies, relationships are vital and there's overlap between work and private lives.

2. In achievement cultures, good performance is rewarded and recognized, people are raised for what they do. While in ascription cultures, power, title, position are important and people are valued for who they are.
