I met an old granny today. I only smiled to greet her because I forgot how to address her.
I knew she was the mother of one of my husband' colleges. But I wasn't sure whose mother she was.
After all, we haven't saw each other for about six years!
She looked at me for several seconds and said,"Oh, I remember you."
"Yes?" I was shamed of my bad memory.
She paused and then continued,"I remember you once saved my life."
"Is that true?" I was surprised, "I don't remember there was such thing."
"I remember," she said, "One day, I fainted and fell down onto the ground. It was you who upreared me and took me back home. My son sent for a doctor and I was saved. If it hadn't been you, I might have died."
I didn't remember the thing though said in detail.
I was not sure if I saved her. Maybe I did, maybe I didn't.
If I did, I am proud of myself.
I am not shamed of forgetting it. We should remember when we get help but we should forget it when we help from others.
