Mega Run-Redford’s Adventure游戏测评

Mega Run is one of my favorite simple tap control game. Redford, a small red-color monster, is the main character in this game as a default, aiming at collecting stolen coins and hidden forest gems for rescuing his families.

There are merely two actions for Redford. One is running and another is jumping. When Redford reaches a certain level with enough coins, he can give one of his corresponding family members a freedom. The freedom in this case that means a character could replace Redford in the following adventures. To a real world, players start to have more choice in character picking. Moreover, Redford and his families could become speedy, powerful and coin-magnetic once they get corresponding gifts. They are even able to fly and launch weapons as long as players have purchased and updated power-ups for them. There are also three types of enemies in game. The lowest red monsters, which cannot move and taller blue walking ones as well as the tallest purple enemy character. Once Redford touches them he would die unless he jumps at the head of them.

This game is well designed for several aspects. Firstly, It is durable to motivate players to play it. On the one hand, the core objective could be changed with the increase of the times players have played. For example, at the beginning, I focused on nothing but whether I could arrive at the end to unlock the next stage, until every stage was unlocked, I switched my goal to collect as much coins as I could to update my equipment. When I already exchanged and got all the equipment, I considered finding all gems in game, which did cost a lot of my time. There were many different paths to the same end, even though the position of gems remained the same, I still needed try it over and over again to memorize it and thus in another words, I could always find pleasure in it. On the other hand, as a compulsive player, without three stars and three gems in every stage did make me feel nervous and uncomfortable, especially they adopted a three-dimensional fill effect design.

Secondly, graphics designs and details were considered pretty careful. I enjoyed the three primary colors’ use and simple characters’ design style. When Redford became a mega one, an interesting trick was that he fell down to the lower path to get more gifts and for our use to find hidden gems. Thirdly, I liked the music and the sound when Redford died. It was cute and funny. It made me feel that they were alive.

All in all, I could easily make emotional connection when I was playing this game. I smiled, I screamed, I got angry and eventually I felt tired after several hours’ watching and playing. Even though every time I thought that was the last time I played this game, when I opened it subconsciously, I would play it for another several hours and I thought that was an attribute of good games and the irresistible immersive glamour of our games.
