死海

你可以称它是朋友，用咸的掌
捧你在手，在这个星球让你
倍感轻松，由于盐，它开个
玩笑。我喜欢它灰色的暗淡光泽，
和寂寞。它或许宁愿首选
是一汪清波，一泓北极冰湖，
或是在定居者从我们这抽走之前，
在整个童年我祖母倾听过的
汩汩泉响。她说这泉水有过
秘密，知道珍宝藏在哪里，
是在没人住的房子里，只有孩子们
才能找到那把钥匙。

诗人简介：纳奥米·希哈布·奈（1952年3月12日—  ）美国诗人、歌词作家和小说家，父亲是巴勒斯坦人，母亲是美国人。已出版和参与创作30多部诗集。2019年被诗歌基金会任命为2019-2021青年桂冠诗人，她是首位获此荣誉的阿拉伯裔美国诗人。现居德克萨斯州圣安东尼。

Dead Sea

You could call it a friend, holding you
in its salty palm, letting you feel lighter
on the planet thanks to salt, playing its
joke. I love its somber gray sheen,
its loneliness. It might have preferred
to be a cool wave, an icy Arctic lake,
or the burbling spring my grandmother listened to
her whole childhood before the settlers
drained it off from us. She says the spring
had secrets and knew where jewels were,
in a house nobody lived in, and only children
would ever find the key.
