Chin Chin restaurant || Melbourn
At the first night we arrived Melbourne, we visited this Viet and Thai inspired modern Australian restaurant. Sat at the bar area beside the kitchen, the staffs were busy in and out. Firstly asked for tap water then we move to the wine menu, mom chose pinot Gris and I chose the cocktail of the month. The male staff with 脏辫 friendly recommended the whole duck meal and a salad, but mom and I both have small stomach so we decided to move onto the small starters. We had the kingfish sashimi and the scallops at the first. In Sydney I have tried those scollaps dish in Viet restaurant, this time, it's taste different but great at the same level - my absolutely favourite dish from Vietnam. Then the kingfish sashimi is mind-blowing, the fish is raw (of course) and fresh,h the souces are great, a perfect match with fruits and herbs. Love it!
Then I ordered the fellow two - the school prawns and the duck larbs. Both dish works like Sum choi Baw - there is a piece of lettuce to hold the meat/prawns, adding sauces or herbs if you like. The school prawn is good, with rice of the vege, adding sauces and others, the prawns inside taste great. The duck larb... ummm.... not my dish.
So. Then. What happened is. The male staff with the 脏辫 comes around and asked for our thought of those two dish we left over. He asked is the prawns bit too hard, and how is the duck larb, is it too spicy or what. And I said we don't like the texture. And then he said he could make this free for us cause we didn't eat it. I was like woooooow, seriously?? And then he said could he bring us something we would like to try instead. And I said the chicken spring rolls. Then. I got the spring rolls.
Pretty impressive huh. I feel blessed and cared. I like it. And this encourages me love Melb more. <3
Overall, the dishes are amazing and the staffs there are lovely and nice and great! Love their smile :D
