The Monkey and the Camel

At a great celebration in honor of King Lion, the Monkey was asked to dance for the company.

一只猴子受邀去一个为狮子王举行的盛大宴会上为观众跳舞。

His dancing was very clever indeed, and the animals were all highly pleased with his grace and lightness.

他的舞蹈十分的精彩，动物们都被他的优雅轻盈的舞步迷住了。

The praise that was showered on the Monkey made the Camel envious.

看见大家对猴子赞美有加，骆驼嫉妒极了。

He was very sure that he could dance quite as well as the Monkey, if not better, so he pushed his way into the crowd that was gathered around the Monkey, and rising on his hind legs, began to dance.

他确信自己舞蹈的功底不在猴子之下，于是他挤到围绕着猴子的观众里，用后腿站起来，开始跳舞

But the big hulking Camel made himself very ridiculous as he kicked out his knotty legs and twisted his long clumsy neck.

大块头的骆驼蹬着他那难看的腿，扭动着他的笨拙的脖子，看起来可笑极了。

Besides, the animals found it hard to keep their toes from under his heavy hoofs.

而且骆驼的蹄子老是踩中其他动物的趾头。

At last, when one of his huge feet came within an inch of King Lion's nose, the animals were so disgusted that they set upon the Camel in a rage and threw him out of the party.

就在骆驼的大脚掌还差一英寸就踩到狮子王鼻子的时候，动物们终于忍无可忍了，他们开始愤怒地攻击骆驼，并把他赶出了盛会。
