五十二章. 道德经The Book of Tao and Teh

天下有始,

The university has a beginning (Tao);

以为天下母。

The beginning functions as the mother of all things.

即得其母，

If you know the mother,

以知其子。

You get to know her children(all things);

即知其子，

If, while knowing the children,

復守其母，

You keep the mother,

没身不殆。

You will be a sage all your life.

塞其兑，

Block the openings(of knowledge),

闭其门，

Shut the door (of desire),

终身不勤

And you will be free from illness all your life.
