Creativity is both the cause and the effect of zest in life.
One of the deepest joys we can get out of life is being creative because when we are creative, we experience the feeling of being God. God, as the creator of the universe, represents the original and supreme form of creativity. This great capacity of creation brings immense passion out of people, making them feel powerful like gods. That’s why artists need to fall in love repeatedly (certainly with different people). The strong zest induced by romantic love fires up artists’ creativity, providing them with bursting inspiration to produce artworks magically like gods. Parents with newborn babies experience these kinds of wonderous feelings too. Consequently, they are more motivated to work harder to create a better life for their babies and themselves. Therefore, creativity breeds zest for life and zest for life further produces more creativity. The relationship between creativity and passion is mutually causing and effecting.
There's almost a metaphysical joy that comes from being creative when we know how to be creative in the right ways. However, a lot of people are missing out on this creativity because most humans on this planet are not tapping into even 1 % of their creative potential.
The major culprit of stifling creativity is education. Our education is training children and young people to become citizens conforming to the country’s needs and rules. In the process, creativity is recognized in form but not really valued in practice, because our cultural tradition regards it as the most important virtue to follow the old, obey the authority and conform to the mainstream. Creative individuals, different from the majority, are to be the targets of criticism and even punishment. We ourselves are not creative enough and naturally, we don't know how to teach our children to be creative. Particularly after children go to school, the education system will gradually deprive them of their intrinsic powers of creativity through repeated practice, strict rules, exams based on rote learning and so on. If some people are creative, it's only through their sort of intuitive efforts that they do it. We don't have a rigorous processor teaching people how to be creative, how to find their creative niche, and what they want to be creative in all the different ways that creativity can manifest itself. This negative aspect of our education needs to be changed, but surely with great difficulty.
Actually, there are so many different ways to be creative. We can be creative in art, business, science and technology, programming, communicating with people, in public speaking…… There is an infinite number of ways to be creative. Even producing a child, raising him/ her, and seeing him/her become a healthy living being is a very practical and magical creative process.
Once we’ve found one area where we can exert our creativity. This is our way of honouring and appreciating the original mission of life. When we really appreciate it, it's not enough just to marvel at it with our eyes. We want to participate in it, to dive into the creative process thoroughly. The more we start to devote ourselves to this action of creativity, the more we start to see the miracle of life, which is so beautiful, wondrous, and mysterious that we would rather give up all others just to be immersed in it. This peak stage of life is exactly the zest for life.
As we get in touch with the magic of creativity, we start to respect and appreciate it so much that we even wish to devote and sacrifice our life to work on its behalf. And that's when our life becomes meaningful. That's when we are connected to the main artery of life, and then we start to be obsessed with it, sacrificing other stuff and working towards it every single day, full of delightful passion. When this happens, each of our days becomes precious, and meaningful in that it's a sacrifice we're making towards the miracle of life.
These kinds of great feelings have been experienced by generations of lovers, artists, inventors, scientists, businessmen, athletes, and so on and so forth. Anyone who has ever climbed up to life’s heights must have experienced this great selfless passion. The protagonist in The Moon and Sixpence is a case in point. Strickland gave up everything in his life, ignoring everything including his well-being just for the sake of painting. He painted, painted and painted, painting for the sake of painting. After he died, all that he painted became an invaluable heritage. The novel is partially based on Paul Gauguin. The former is disconnected from the beautiful, the wonderous, the divine, the miraculous, and the mystery. That's why people become bored or even disillusioned with life. That's why a lot of people become addicted to alcohol, cigarette, or electronic games. Because what joy can the normal kind of life be? How can you love life when you live in that way? Not positively constructive at all.
So to speak, you feel that you're living way below your full potential, and you should be unsatisfied with that kind of lifestyle. When you are not living at your edge. You are not in touch with the miracle of life and existence.
If you don't participate in life creatively, then it's like you're not living at all. Just like a zombie, Your life can't be exciting and wonderful.
Find your interest. Create something out of your life from scratch. That's the opportunity that life is affording you. That's a huge challenge. That’s a difficult struggle. It's not just pure positivity and pleasure that you get when you undertake this process. It requires serious work, but it is worth it.
To sum it up, creativity is not only the reason for passion but also the result produced by passion. Live with passion. Be creative! Explore the infinite potential life unfolds in front of you. That’s how we should enjoy life!

事实上,发挥创造力的形式可以多种多样。在艺术、商业、科技、编程、与人沟通、公开演讲等方面都有无限种方式可以发挥创意。甚至生养一个孩子,看到一个健康活力生命体的成长,也是一个非常切实并神奇的创造性过程。
一旦找到一个可以发挥创造力的领域, 就算是找到了尊重和欣赏生命之原始使命的渠道。在这里,仅仅站在一边观察和赞叹是远远不够的。我们需要迫不及待地参与其中,彻底融入创造的整个过程。越是投身于这种创造性的行动,我们就越能感受到生命的奇迹:它是如此美丽、奇妙和神秘,以至于我们宁愿放弃其他一切,只为完全沉浸其中。这种生命的高峰体验恰恰就是对生命的热情。
