The importance of learning Engli
If I could return to the school to learn, I would focus on English carefully. Unfortunately, when I was a student, I didn’t pay more attention to learning it. After working, I know the importance of English. For me, I have worked for more than ten years. Now I work for a foreign company as QC supervisor. Frankly, my working position has been limited due to lack of English level. Though now I spend my all spare time to study English, the progress is lower than my expectation.
At present, I notice a common phenomenon that more and more professionals punch a clock in the WeChat friends circle to learn English, including my boss, my colleagues and other friends. In such a globalizing tide, English has become professionals’ essential skill. No matter whether we work in a foreign company or other industry areas, the society is forcing us to learn English. English level has become a vital skill, which test us whether we can match the company’s development. So far, learning English is also one of my important things in my spare time.
I guess most of people watched the hot TV series 'Ode to joy'. From QuXiaoxiao and Andy roles, we could notice the career difference between good English or poor English level for them. Quxiaoxiao relied on Andy’s help to gain a cooperation with GI company. But when she negotiated with GI face to face, their cooperation was defeated due to her limited English level. Actually, every company has some employees like Quxiaoxiao. They have strong working ability and communication skills, but their languages can’t achieve the company’s need, they can’t be rated outstanding staff.
Today, many companies start to pay more attention to staff’s English skill. Per the survey, the needs of English talents for companies would increase and nearly 80% of interviewees agreed this point. More than 80% of interviewees thought that needs of English talents for companies would continue to increase. About 75% of companies encouraged staff to improve English skill. For example, our company provide some English training opportunity every year through hiring some foreign English teacher, so that our English skill can be improved.
In conclusion, from the data of interviewees, the importance of English has been commonly recognized. Generally, we often learn English through self-study or attending some classes. From my point of view, I think attending an English training on Hujiang website for us is more effective than self-study. Compared with other study website, Hujiang website’s learning fee is reasonable. Besides, I often make time to practice by myself or find a team to communicate with each other in English. So, I not only attended some courses on Hujiang website in the past several years, but also I practiced writing by myself. In addition, I often attend English corner activities. My English is improving. Now, though my English level still rest on a common level, I believe that so long as I keep on learning it, I will realize my dream to communicate with foreign colleagues smoothly at work. On the way to learn English, I will follow the discipline of “10,000 hours of deliberate practice.” So, there is a long way to reach my goal.
