Reading, I daresay, has an enormous bearing on the way I live. By extensive reading, you may acquire useful information and see various opinions to be more liberal and more profound. But for me, reading means more than that. // In the past few years, I have developed a taste for literature and usually ambled in the garden of beautiful sentences., where my imagination is kindled, feelings fired and a sense of beauty ignited. As time stretched on, I started having an eye for amazing beauty revealed by ordinary words, but having not a head for it until recently I read oceans of conferences to the language art like rhetoric. // Now I have an intimate knowledge of rhetoric to be able to appreciate why a good sentence is good. Rhetoric is just like a magic wand that can render ordinary words powerful to reach deep into my soul. Every time I come across a beautiful sentence, I would collect it like a treasure and relish it like tasty food. // With a discerning eye and head for beauty, I become a greedy creature running through the well-made works to search for beautiful sentences. Every word in a beautiful sentence seems to have weight, and dances upon the strings of my heart, producing a lovely, haunting melody. For me, reading has grown into a process in which I hunt for beauty and savour it.
