小杂绪英文练笔5

Bathed in the warm sunshine, on the rooftop of the student apartment, I am now lying idly, but thinking very hard about the past few months and the coming months, with eyes gazing into the clear, blue sky. 

    In the twilight of my student’s stage, I have not chosen to further my educational background. At the time, I had a bursting thirst for extensive knowledge and was in desperate want of improvement in my English skills. Therefore, reading as a way to absorb knowledge and perfect my English has become my first and foremost work every day, leaving no space for other things, let alone the preparation for the entrance exam for postgraduate schools. I didn’t regret it, nor do I, nor will I. Through a year of wild reading, to my great delight, I have well reached the level in which I can basically read English authentic books freely and almost write in English at will, gaining an upgraded head and an abundant heart.

    In the past three or four months, I have fallen into a habit of sleeping late and waking up late, partly because of being stuck with videos that may swallow quite a big share of my day, and partly because of the raw morning air that can dissolve my courage. If sleep were food, I would be overwhelmingly overweight. Be that as it may, I still spend the best part of day focusing on the fields that interest me, like the language art, translation and so forth.

    I don’t know whether it was normal or not for me to remain silent all day along. With no talking pal, no oral communication and no voice out, I seemed as though to be thrown into a deserted island, taking my own path of destiny without any bearings on surroundings. Occasionally, a surge of desire to communicate with certain people bursts into violent flames storming to every corner of my body. Most time, I was as quiet as a bare tree, or as peaceful as a dead leaf.

    Having stayed in school for ages, I, who got no important exam to finish and no urgent school work to accomplish, was pressed by the new head teacher to come out of shell to hunt for a job. I agreed, for it was high time to feed myself, and then revised my resume to send it. Within a week, after an English interview, I got a part-time job as an English assistant for children. As for the job, I, as I always do, rejoice in the presence of lovely, lively children. I plan to do a part-time job firstly, and after a certain period might try a full-time teacher. Since I got the job, my life has seemed to be a bit busy and a bit interesting.
