生命短暂，何不来一场英雄之旅

If growth and development take place from the bottom up—from physical to emotional to mental to spiritual—change is powered from the top down. The most compelling source of purpose is spiritual, the energy derived from connecting to deeply held values and a purpose beyond one’s self-interest. Purpose creates a destination. It drives full engagement by prompting our desire to invest focused energy in a particular activity or goal. We become fully engaged only when we care deeply, when we feel that what we are doing really matters. Purpose is what lights us up, floats our boats, feeds our souls.
如果成长和发展是自下而上的，从体能到情感到意志再到意志，而改变是自上至下的。意志精力是最重要的目标来源，而意志精力是来自底层的价值观和超越个人利益的目标。目标决定了生命旅途的目的地（命运），它会让我们全情投入，让我们在某个活动或目标投入专注的精力。只有当我们内心深处真的在乎，认为自己所做的真正有意义，我们才能全情投入。目标感能点燃我们、驱动我们以及滋养们的灵魂。
The philosopher and mythologist Joseph Campbell described the search for meaning and purpose as “The Hero’s Journey.” The basic elements of the path, he argued, recur across cultures and throughout history. Self-transformation, Campbell said, is our greatest challenge as human beings. The hero’s journey begins when something awakens us to the need for change—illumination, discomfort, pain. Campbell described this as the “Call to Adventure.” Once we accept the call, he said, we push forward into the unknown. Along the way we face doubt, uncertainty, fear and hardship. At some point, we realize that we cannot make the journey alone, and we seek help from a “mentor.”
哲学家和神话学者 Campbell将探寻生命的意义和目的的过程称为“英雄之旅”。这过程中的基本元素在诸多文化和历史长河中不断涌现。 Campbell说，自我转化（我更喜欢自我进化）是人类最大的挑战。当改变的需求被启示、不适或痛苦唤醒时，英雄之旅就开始了。 Campbell将它描述为“冒险的召唤”。一旦接受了召唤，我们就进入了未知的领域，一路走来，我们会面临怀疑、不确定、恐惧和困境的磨难。有时，我们会意识到自己无法独自完成“英雄之旅”，这时便需要“导师”的帮助。
我的思考My Thinking
1.成长和发展是自下而上的，大部分人的成长和发展是从运动开始的，但在运动之前，其意志已经有所改变了。我想到我们小时候一直在学思想政治教育课，这就是为了我们树立正确的意识，这样才会有正确的行为。我以前读过杜书伍先生的《将才》，里面谈到教育的重要本质是改变思想意识！在企业变革中，也要先进行思想观念的培训，不然推进变革会有很大阻力。个人也一样，若是脑子里都没有想改变，现实中也不可能改变。
Growth and development starts bottom up, most people begin this journey by sports which is following the spiritual change. We took ideological and political courses since we were kids to build up publically right mindset, which born correct actions. I used to read Mr. Du Shuwu's “Jiang Cai” which emphasized the importance of changing of mindset. In corporate changes, all begins spiritually, so there's mindset training, otherwise resistance will be encountered. Same with personal transformation, no change in reality happened without initial change in minds.
2.对英雄主义的升级Upgrade on Heroism
我一直很喜欢看动作片，尤其是宣扬个人英雄主义的，有李连杰、布鲁斯·威利斯等，尤其是史泰龙系列的。现在想想这些电影情节简单，其实是满足自己心中的“英雄梦”，看电影时把自己遐想成男主角，内心很有满足感，尽管很虚无。
I like watch action movies, especially the one publicizing Heroism, e.g., Jet Li, Bruce, Schwarzenegger, especially Stallone series. The movies are simple but can satisfy one's hero dream thinking myself as the leading hero, although this is wishful thinking.
我还是很认可“时世造英雄”的，今天更加认可Campbell说的，探寻生命的意义和目的的过程称为“英雄之旅”，那么不断探寻生命的意义和目的的人就是英雄！这样的英雄主义更具有实际意义。人类的最大的需求是自我实现，而最大的挑战能够自我转化成功，这个过程需要导师或教练的协助，这也是教练的价值啊。
I believe “The times produce their heroes”, but I prefer Campbell's comment regarding the search for meaning and purpose as “The Hero’s Journey." Heroes are the ones who can search for meaning and purpose and this definition is more inspiring. The biggest need for human being is self-actualization and biggest challenge is successful self-transformation which needs the help form mentor or coach and this's the value of coaching.
