China Box Office Returns

China began reopening theaters in regions deemed at low risk for COVID-19 on July 20. As of noon on July 26, it had opened around 4,900 cinemas, accounting for approximately 44% of the country’s total. They are currently only allowed to operate at 30% capacity to provide sufficient social distancing between customers.
7月20日，在新冠肺炎看来风险较低的地区，中国开始重开影院。截至7月26日中午，中国已开设了约4900家影院，约占全国影院总数的44%。他们目前只获准以30%的容量运作，以提供足够的客户之间的社会距离。

Reports from state media and listed film companies described cinemas’ current recovery as “faster than expected,” having risen from a single-day box office of RMB3 million (4.28 million) in just six days. 官方媒体和上市电影公司的报道称，电影院目前的复苏速度“快于预期”，在短短六天内，影院的单日票房从300万元人民币(合42.8万美元)上升到3000万元人民币(合428万美元)。
