The Little Prince

TO A DISTANT FRIEND

I ask children to forgive me for dedicating this book to a grown-up. I have a serious reason: this grown-up is the best friend I have in the world. I have another reason: this grown-up can understand everything, even books for children. I have a third reason: this grown-up is hungry and cold. He(Can "he" represents  everyone?) needs to be comforted. If all these reasons are not enough, then I want to dedicate the book to the child whom this grown-up once was. All grown-ups were children first, although few of them remember it. So, I correct my dedication:

我请求孩子们原谅我把这本书献给一个大人。不是和你们开玩笑，这个人是我在世界上最好的朋友。而且，他什么都知道，甚至小孩子看的书也懂。还有，他(她）现在又冷又饿，他（她）需要我的安慰。如果这些理由都还不够，我想把这本书献给小孩子时的他（她）。所有的大人曾经都是孩子，尽管大部分的大人都忘了。所以，我更正一下题词：

致还曾是孩子的远方的朋友

【说明Introductions】

        录音来自外语系的小伙伴，大家会在接下来的录音中听到他们生动的演绎。也许录音并不完美，但是凝聚了每个人对小王子的喜爱。

        英文是通过录音记录下来地，来源于哪个译者已经忘记了，不过谢谢他（或者她？）能够把小王子变得通俗易懂。

        翻译是在我理解的基础上给出的版本，希望我心中的小王子也能够和你成为朋友。

        有颜色的字体是对录音中的错误进行的订正，或者是在理解的基础上做的一些改变，我希望作者不会介意，因为《小王子》的目的是为了给大家带来更多灵感。

        书中作者把这本书送给他在法国的一位男性朋友。然而这位朋友究竟是谁，我们也不清楚，他对于我们来说也就没有太大的意义（如果你想八卦当然除外）。不如把这个人想象成我们自己的朋友，把小王子的故事说给他（她）听。

        The audio book is produced by classmates in school of foreign languages in my university. You will hear their vivid performance in the following audios. The audio book may be not perfect, but it joins their love of the little prince.

        The English version is made by listening to the audio book. I have already forgotten who the translator is, but thanks to him(or her?), the little prince is not hard to be understood.

        Chinese translation is given by me, which is based on my understanding of the little prince. I hope that my little prince would also be your friend.

        The colored words is the corrections of some mistakes in the audio book, or is the changes that I make on the basis of my understanding. I hope that author would not mind the slight change I made by the colored words, because the purpose of The Little Prince is to bring more inspirations to readers.

        In the book, author dedicated The Little Prince to his male friend, who lived in France. But that friend is unfamiliar to us. In order not to be distracted by an unknown name, why not imagine him as our own friend and tell the story of the little prince to him(her)?
