2.investigate,survey & look into

Investigate：to try to find out the truth about sth, such as a crime, accident or scientific problem

查明，调查，侦查犯罪事故或者科学问题等的真相

e.g. The state police are investigating the incident.州警察正在调查此事。

（日常英语中常用look into sth, I’ll ask my colleague to look into it.我会请同事查一下这件事。）

survey v.to ask a large number of people questions in order to find out their attitudes or opinions调查

Business Development Advisers surveyed 211 companies for the report.

企业发展顾问为这份报告调查了211家公司。
