依旧学英语：死于话多（Waiting for George）

Lucy is leaving a nice restaurant.

She sees her friend, Julia, sitting at a table by herself.

Julia! what's wrong? You look sad!

Oh Lucy, it's awful! It's my anniversary, but I don't think George is coming.

what?why not?

I forgot our anniversary last year , and I think he's still angry about it. He's very late.

But that was a year ago!

He's probably late because of traffic.

No , he's not coming…

And look at everything I did for him this year . I got his favorite flowers.

And I hired a musician to play his favorite song.

Julia points to a violin player at a nearby table.

The musician has been waiting for an hour.

George is an hour late?! Maybe he isn't coming…

He was so angry when I forgot our anniversary last year.

This year , I remembered everything. But he's not here !Now  I know our relationship is finished.

Julia , George is terrible. You can find five  men in this restaurant who are better than him.

You don't like George?

I have never liked George! He talks too much.

Julia gets a text message.

Oh, George just texted me!

He says ," I am so excited for our anniversary tomorrow."

what ?! Our anniversary is the fifteenth!

Julia , tomorrow is the fifteenth.

Oh! My anniversary is tomorrow!

I feel much better now!

Oh ,great! Everything is Ok with you and George!

Yes ! I'm so happy.But wait, do you really think George talked too much?

    通常情况下，在一个家庭里，经常丢三落四，丢头忘尾的都是男人。但在茱莉亚和乔治的家里，这一角色变成了茱莉亚。茱莉亚才是过得比较粗糙的那个人，她忘了去年的结婚纪念日，当时的乔治非常生气。所以，她今年想要补救，不仅订了豪华餐厅，还买了乔治最喜欢的花，还雇了小提琴手准备拉他最喜欢的歌…但这一切都是无用功，乔治并没有来。

      但实际上，是茱莉亚这个马大哈搞错了日期，明天才是他们的纪念日，这个误会在收到乔治的短信后解开，雨过天晴，茱莉亚和乔治的婚姻是没有问题了，但茱莉亚和露西的友谊却受到了挑战，茱莉亚开始秋后算账了…

      在这些系列短文里，我还是很喜欢露西的，她聪明睿智，有丰富的人生阅历…

    但也偶尔糊涂。这就是她难得糊涂的地方。她不喜欢乔治话多，但此时，她也多话了…

      无论是谁，当着你的面抱怨另一个人时，你只管听着就好了，千万不要说什么，多说多错，回头人家没事了，你就成了坏人。
