One Sided Love

“I Love You”

I know this isn’t what you want to hear

But it makes me happy to say it

You don’t have to love me back

This is what they call

One-sided love

Me to you

Not you to Me

To have one-sided love

Is better than not having any love

I decided I can live with that

I realized to feel love

Is better than not feeling love at all

To love someone

Is better than not loving anyone

Even if it is one-sided love

Love is such a strong emotion

This I never knew

I discovered the importance of love

Just by loving you

Because the feeling isn’t mutual

You may never love me back

Since I have never loved before

I thought about this long and hard

As I make my love confession

Now you also know

My first love

Is You

I imagined myself on a romantic trip

At the end of my one-sided journey

I stop

With a broken heart I turn around

And find my way home alone

Who does that?

In my young life not me

I cannot imagine what real love is like

If one day you decide to love me back

Will I see my own reflection

In your eyes

When it comes to different types of love

Even one-half love

Can give me strength

To climb mountains I could never climb

With zero love in my heart

I found out

Love is like a high-octane fuel

Making my body run faster and stronger

Imagine the things I can do

When someone loves me back

So I say again

I love you today

I may still love you tomorrow

Just do me one favor

Do not say anything back to me

It might spoil

That one-sided thing

I just confessed

To You
