Qingming
What a beautiful name! Literally, it means clearness and brightness. It falls on April 5th this year and we enjoy a public holiday . On this day, we commemorate and pay respect to our ancestors by cleaning their tombs and playing offerings.
Qingming is also the 5th solar term of the lunar year. It marks the start of warm weather and beginning of farm work. People always have activities such as spring outings and flying kites.
The traditional food for Qingming festival is qingtuan, a kind of green rice balls. It is made of a mixture of glutinous rice powder and green vegetable juice and stuffed with been paste. It is jade-green in color, glutinous in taste, sweet in aroma.
Maybe I should take my family for a spring outing. Still, my nose is suffering and I sneezed so much this morning. Yet, I feel everything is getting better!
