你们可能会感到自己被欺骗了……哪有什么写作秘籍，也就是写的读写老师上课讲的那点东西而已。

1.Gilbert Keith Chesterton 的A Defence of Detective Stories，一篇很有逻辑性的文章，旨在为侦探小说伸张正义。强调开篇"In attempting to reach the genuine psychological reason for the popularity of detective stories, it is necessary to rid ourselves of many mere phrases." 点评:reach在这里不是达到接触的意思，可以理解为找到，在平常写作里就不要再用We can find that...还有mere phrases纯粹的短语，就是空话的意思，在写作中我们也要尽量避免mere phrases.文章第三段首句在我们平时写作中是可以套用的”The first essential value of the detective story lies in this, that it is the earliest and only form of popular literature in which is expressed some sense of the poetry of modern life."前面那句就是我们经常用的The first reason is that....后面加粗的部分属于主语太长后置了，更显得清晰一些。

2.继续上次讲的A Defence of Detective Stories，其实这篇文章理解上是很有难度的。但是我强调几个单词的运用（1）No one can have failed to notice that in these stories the hero or the investigator crosses London with something of the loneliness and liberty of a prince in a tale of elfland(仙界), that in the course of that incalculable(uncertain) journey the casual omnibus assumes(take on) the primal(basic, original) colours of a fairy ship.

(2)It is based on the fact that morality is the most dark and daring of conspiracies.（合谋）这句主要是观点很不错，可以深究。
