Life in Bath

My time in Bath as an international postgraduate student, though quickly passed by before I realized it, had been a great memory that would never fail to bring me back to this Georgian style city. Personally, the things that I treasure most there are Bath's stunning street and natural view, my learning experience in the Uni of Bath, and most importantly, the friends that I met during my study there.

Starting from the city itself. Most buildings in Bath are made from honey-colored Bath Stone with Georgian as the dominant style. Extraordinary landmarks like Bath Abbey, Royal Crescent, Pump Room and so forth never cease to attract tourists and I always admire them like a tourist. Unlike Chinese cities, Bath is quite small but it is better defined by the convenience that comes with it. It seems to me that most places are within 15min walking distance, be it banks, supermarkets, high street shops, restaurants, museums, or bars etc. (Uni is an exception, 40min walk away from the city center and I am lazy). And if you fancy some refreshing natural views, a 30min walk from the city center can easily take you to places like Two Tunnels or Alexandra Park.

As an international student, the thing I enjoy most about studying in the Uni of Bath is that I can attend various academic talks, presentations and seminars on different topics. The university is always simmering with debates and discussions on topics like International hotspot issues, history, psychology to technologies, sports and social development, which are something quite new for me.

Finally come to my favorite part haha, my friends. I'm from China and actually it's my first time living abroad for so long. So I'm grateful that I met some friends from whom I learned how to be more independent, to be responsible and caring, and we had fun together haha. Their different cultural backgrounds open a new world for me, and it's them that make Bath a place so special for me. I'm glad that I decided to come to Bath, and I have no doubt that it still has so much to offer that I M happy to go back to her when I have the time.
