Do you like your job? Well, I don't like it.

I was a physics student ---- for the past 10 years.

I have been working in the government department ---- for the past 15 months.

And I was assigned as vice president public relation for? That’s not a big figure from late August… September… October, only about 6 weeks.

However, I have received positive comments from my fellows and guests. I am not lying. A few guests and members came to say, “Hey, Emily! Are you a senior member? You are so active in the QQ group. How can you join in Toastmasters Club for only two months! Unbelievable? That's true and you may check it out with our team officer. Or we can prove it in another way. Charles, our Chief Entertainment Officer, would you please say something nice about Emily’s job? One or two sentence is enough. Balabalabal... .... Wow, thank you. I am over flattered. Look, neither of my background, physics or government work, fits my new job. But how can I do it well? The secret is to do it naturally.

Being a public relation officer means a lot to me. It takes time and energy to help promote the club on the one hand. In the meantime, you have to be a little creative to get new ideas, and a little brave to put into action, as to maintain a good understanding between organization and the public. Then one day, I found that I do it naturally. It drives me to do more and more, simply like a big powerful invisible hand that keeps pushing you forward from behind. Okay, nothing. I said the hand is invisible. We cannot see it.

I do it naturally because Toastmasters is everywhere. Last Monday, I was required to meet a boy on a blind date because he is SAA and I am SAA, Single and available. With only a little moonlight, we started with a Chinese icebreaker like 哎， 你好，我叫 Cai Qing. An ice breaker is a self-introduction. To break the silence, our VPPR decided to introduce to the boy with a long long story of Toastmaster in a mixed languages like pu tong hua, pu dong English and wuxi dialect, just like what we are doing right now. Okay, for the record, only English is allowed in this room. Can you guess the result? You cannot believe it. Wow, Toastmasters is so powerful that no more contacts from the boy after the first meetup. Here are some tips for you, if you like somebody, tell TA about toastmasters. If you hate somebody, tell TA about Toastmasters. You know, Toastmasters can sometimes sound really interesting and humorous, but you know, it could be rather boring and disgusting. It only ups to you. You never know it until you try it out.

Look, here is a VPPR report within 1.5 months (Paste on board before meeting). Wuxi No.1 Toastmasters has appealed to 114 fans at 新浪微博with 526 posts. You can see 20 blogs and 160 pictures on 豆瓣小站 with 21 fans, while 豆瓣同城 has appealed to 55 fans. The figures may not be accurate because our fans keep growing and expanding with double digits over there. Hey, everyone, is that a satisfying result? Well, thank you. I will continue to work harder to explore more of VPPR job. Here is a thing, according to TI guide book, VPPR is only the fourth ranking club officer. Do you think it is fair? I personally and strongly suggest that VPPR teams should rise up to talk to TI directly about the rank in the future.

I do it naturally because my work is actually rewarding. Lilly came talk to me secretly that she brought me a special gift from the South-Asia trip. Charles claimed loudly that he would share one of his prizes from TI with me for my contribution to the club. Let’s wait and see what the surprises are! Frankly, the most rewarding part of VPPR is the connections as Charles talked about on Nanjing Division Q Contest. Because of the VPPR job, I get to know more interesting people and more people come to know me and my club.

See I can work as a VPPR naturally even without a solid academic background. I was actually a physics student and a government staff. I do it naturally without any professional training yet. I could even promote Toastmasters in a blind date, though it was really embarrassing. You can hardly image how powerful it will be to drive you to work when you do it naturally. The desire and motivation of fulfillment comes from your inner heart. If you don’t like your current job, quit it? No, No, No, I won’t suggest that. Do not quit it, but just go find an interest that appeals to you and do it naturally. I am sure you will have fun with it, just like what I am doing now. Listen, think of an idea to change your life and put it into action.
