城市生物多样性的前提是复杂多样的生境条件。尽管城市在不断建设和扩张中改变了土地原有的生态系统、水文状况和地表结构，城市中的自然空间既有限又破碎，但是要在一定程度上实现城市生物多样性却并非如我们想像的那样困难重重。

译文：

The precondition of urban biodiversity is complex and diverse habitat. The constant expansion of cities has transformed the original ecosystem, hydrologic conditions and physical features of land, leading to limited and broken natural spaces, but to some extent it is not as hard as we think to achieve urban biodiversity.
