[[1]] 美人步移苍穹转，原文She walks in beauty，语法上很妙，应该理解为她风姿绰约地行走着，是一种动态的美，中文无法原样译出。前两行是一个明喻，Simile comparing the movement of the beautiful woman to the movement of the skies，以星空流转喻美人行走。修辞解说来自Byron's She Walks in Beauty: a Study Guide (cummingsstudyguides.net)，下同。
[[2]] 夜，据称诗中女子新寡，当时身着缀有金属亮片的丧服（黑色），故以星夜喻之甚恰。
[[3]] 巧施展，用于翻译all that's best of岂不巧妙。
[[4]] 面容，aspect此处是appearance的意思。下文还写到face，cheek与brow，译文尽量不用重复字。
[[5]] 酿成醇厚，mellow是使柔和、成熟、醇厚之意的意思。
[[6]] 柔辉，原文tender light，下文还有softly和soft，中文只能都用到柔字。
[[7]] 上天，这是一个转喻Metonymy, in which heaven is substituted for God or for the upper atmosphere。
[[8]] 俗日艳，原文称白日俗艳，上天没有给它诗中美人得到的柔光。本节用同一韵脚，以下两节同，且与原韵更贴合。
[[9]] 光一缕，先译作光一丝，常言一丝光线，且光与影更相对，遂将第一节柔光改为更好的柔辉；后文又有青丝，遂改为光一缕。原文是多一层影、少一缕光，其实是一个意思，倒应该是多一层影或者多一缕光，即明暗增减都不行更合适，译文可谓歪打正着。
[[10]] 优雅，此处用重复处理定语从句。以下双颐同。此处用暗喻，Metaphor comparing grace, a quality, to a perceivable phenomenon。
[[11]] 波漾，原文说优雅在她每一根乌黑的头发上波漾。先译为摇曳，似不如波漾生动。
[[12]] 青丝，由于字数限制无法译出原文每一根（every）的意思，遗憾。
[[13]] 双颐，原文face，为押韵用此字，反觉更好。
[[14]] 居处，此处为暗喻兼拟人，Metaphor and personification comparing thoughts to people; metaphor and personification comparing the mind to a home (dwelling-place)，即思居于头脑，尤人之居于屋舍也。
[[15]] 宜，原文dear有可爱、珍贵之意，此处为押韵从权。
[[16]] 红晕浮，先译作红晕流，总觉得不美，后找到了这个浮字，属平水韵十一尤部，甚喜。
[[17]] 备说，译出原文eloquent一词，所说包括后面三事。此处为暗喻兼拟人，Metaphor and personification comparing the woman's cheek and brow to persons who tell of days in goodness spent。
[[18]] 求，先用稠字，用来表示善行多，颇为可笑；后找到求字，表示她追求善行，妥。
[[19]] 思和万物，即思与万物相和。无惊忧，赘语。

She Walks in Beauty

She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes:
Thus mellowed to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.

One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impaired the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o'er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express,
How pure, how dear their dwelling place.

And on that cheek, and o'er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
