1.why does Baby Suggs insisted on calling herself Baby Suggs instead of Jenny Whitlow?

I think "Baby Suggs" means a lot to her,including her past.she wanted to keep this name as a way to remember the past.It was part and parcel of what it meant to life.

2.In the flash back, we can see the white girl-Amy’s various deeds toward Sethe. What do you think are reasons that Sethe  named the new-born baby after Amy Denver? (except for the reason of helping Sethe with her  baby delivering)

Amy was a poor girl,she has starved for several days,but she had hope for life.she had a dream,a beautiful dream which had been the best part of her life.she told Sethe the story of velvet and Boston,and she tried to make Sethe believe there would be a lovely place which could guide her to a happiness life.Sethe knew life would be tough for the new-born baby,but she couldn't change it.so she just  named the new-born baby  Denver so that she could transfer the picture Denver described into her new-born baby's life.

3.In the carnival,when Denver was surrounded by a crowed of people who pleased her enough to consider the possibility that Paul.D wasn't all that bad,why did Denver change her attitude towards Paul.D?

Paul.D took Sethe and Denver to the festival where she met a lot of people.Paul.D knew most people there,and because of him,some people say hello to Denver,People around her tried to please her,which make her happy.Denver thought it was Paul.D who took her to the festival.

4.How did Denver change her attitude towards Paul D?

For Denver,her life had been changed since Paul.D came into 124.Baby Sugges has died,and 124 was spiteful,so her Mom was the only person on whom she could rely.Paul.D was a stranger to Denver,but unexpectedly, he stole love from her.Paul.D knew the past of her Mom as well as some stories she had never known before.Gradually,she began to realize her feelings of envy towards Paul.D.However,when Paul.D took them to the festival,Several people even nodded and smiled at her mother, no one, apparently, able to withstand sharing the pleasure Paul D.was having.Denver delighted when many people around her tried to please her.Denver felt so satisfied that she thought Paul.D was not so bad as she thought.知识星球知识星球知识星球简书 - 写文章
