We use the when it is clear which thing or person we mean

(1) places: We use the in names with republic/states/kingdom(the USA)

         not use with names of places(France)

(2) seas/rivers: use the with names of oceans/seas/rivers/canals

(3) We use the with names of most hotels,museums, the atres and cinemas (the Regent Hotel)

         not use with names of streets,squares, airports, stations, and many other important buildings(France)

You can use superlative + I’ve ever…/you’ve ever etc.

Unit 100

If he had the money, he would buy a fast car.

Usually had is past, but in this sentence had is not past.

If he had money=If he had the money now(but he doesn’t have it)
