desperation：n. 绝望的境地；不顾一切拼命

desperately：adv. 拼命地；绝望地；极度地

desperate：adj. 不顾一切的；令人绝望的；极度渴望的

I hope some of you will think also about serving in other parts of the world, where your skills may be even more desperately needed.

我希望你们中的一些人也会考虑到世界的其他地方去服务，在那里，也许更加迫切的需要你们的技艺。

desperate即有绝望的意思，也有不顾一切拼命的含义。就像我很喜欢的一个词——绝地反击，只有在最绝望的时候，也不放弃拼搏的人，才会打出漂亮的反击。这才是强者。
