To guide Little Bunny into a world of
reading became the priority of parenting,
As far as I was concerned,
there’s no other methods than reading
that could bring her a nourished heart
and a free soul in the future.

这段独特不可再现的绝妙成长时光，
她只需要享受到纯粹的阅读乐趣就足够了。
And during this amazingly unique growing period
all she needed was to fully enjoy
the authentic joy of reading.

3个月时，
我给她看黑白显卡，
她的眼睛会追着卡片移动。
When she was three months old,
I showed her black and white paper cards
And I noticed her eyes follow
the movements of the cards.

6个月时，给她搭建了个小小专属阅读区，
那时，书只是她的玩具。
When she was six months old,
I set up a small reading area for her.
The toys she had at that time were
merely books of different kinds.

8个月的一天，
远道而来的朋友A，提着一篮水果来看我们，
小兔能一一指出图案中对应的水果
A惊讶极了，对着我尖叫，
“天哪，小天才，下一步得教她认字，
以后上学要跳级！”
我说，“她只是知道了事物的对应关系而已”。
There’s one day when
Little Bunny’s was about eight months,
A friend of mine A showed up with a basket of fruits
Little Bunny played with the fruits by matching
them with what she saw on the books.
My friend was so surprised that
her voice was simply out of control
by saying, “Oh My goodness,
you’ve got a little genius.
You’d better teach her Chinese characters,
surely she will finish school earlier
than other kids.”
But I told her that what Little Bunny
knew was only the correspondence of objects.

朋友A在房间中看一圈，疑问，
“咦，你家没电视？晚上不看电视？”
“是的，有了孩子便把电视移走了，
晚上以亲子夜读为主。”
My friend A looked around in the room and asked:
“ You don’t have a TV? No TV time in the evening?”
“No, we don’t. Since there’s Little Bunny,
TV is not an option any more.
Reading with Little Bunny
is our family time at night.”

大家一起去餐厅，
小兔赶紧去把她最爱的“
为什么蚊子老在人们耳边嗡嗡叫”
塞进我的包里。
朋友A说，“嗨，这是学你的，
我记得你每次外出都要带本书”。
When in a restaurant
Little Bunny was seen to put away
her favorite story book
“Why Mosquitoes Buzz in People’s Ears”
into my handbag.
My friend A said to me:
"Look, she is just like you.
You have the habit of bringing a book
with you wherever you go.”

2年后，我俩在一次年会上表演
“为什么蚊子老在人们耳边嗡嗡叫”，
这个非洲故事，
如果我没记错的话，讲了几百遍，
我们扮演蜥蜴、蚊子、蛇、兔子、狮子等角色
台上台下热闹成一片，实在是太好玩了！
In a annual party two years later,
Little Bunny and I gave a performance
based on the story
“Why Mosquitoes Buzz in People’s Ears”,
an African story which
we had read hundreds of times together.
We played the parts of lizard.
mosquito, snake, rabbit and lion
The audience was so excited and it was
such an interesting experience.

还有哪一个地方，
能让孩子可以穿越现实中的一切？
让她的心灵自由地在
另一个想象的世界里翱翔，
体验着今生无缘亲历的
惊心动魄浪漫奇特的生活。
启蒙阅读，不是一件可能在短期见效的工程，
所有为了赢在起跑线的出发，
都会折损孩子本身享受阅读快乐的本意。
在阅读塑造她的同时，
我们只需要，
投入爱与陪伴、耐性，以及示范。
Is there a place which can help kids
travel through the reality
to a world of imagination
where her mind could wander freely
and experience a peculiar and romantic
life that couldn’t be realized in a real life?
Reading enlightenment is not a project
that can be fulfilled in a short period of time.
“To set off to be winners at the starting line“
will only ruin the authentic joy of reading.
All we need is to offer love, accompanying,
patience and examples
during our parenting with reading.
