Empathy!!!! be a student yourself

1. teachers may be too familiar with their discipline to realize the difficulties of learning it

2. doesn't mean that you should accept their excuses 

3. ask your colleagues of another subject to listen to your class

What the students want

1. want enthusiasm 

2. want teacher's individual attention

3. want to be relaxed in class [but: There should be a little bit tension / anxiety in the class! ----- help to be alert in class]

4. want mentoring, vocational advice, respect for their goals [accessibility]

but remember the inequality relationship

Students' learning styles are different from the teacher's times 

Students teach

1. they learn best when they teach --- seminar 

Liberal arts

1. the students may not want to take the classes that are not related to their majors, so the teachers should should enthusiasm and draw the students to the subject  ["Even physics is potentially likable!"]

2. college isn't about learning vocations; it's about making a citizen

3.
