- The Alabama's election chief says it is unlikely that the outcome of the state's US senate race will change even as Republican Roy More looks to a possible recount. Alabama's law is triggers an automatically recount when the winner's margin of victory is less than half of 1%. Democratic Doug Jones led more about 1.5% on Tuesday night.
- President Trump says Republicans are very very close to a historical legislated victory on Taxes. House and senate GOP leaders are forcing agreement on swiping overhaul of the nation's tax laws, paving the ways for final votes next week to slash taxes for businesses and giving most people tax cuts starting next year.
- Minnesota governor Mark Dayton has appointed LT. governor Tina Smith to replace fellow democratic senator Al Franken until a special election in November. Senator Franken says Tina Smith will be an excellent US senator in his place.
