1. Superiority - deep seated beliefs in its own exceptionality
2. Insecurity
3. Impulse control - the ability to delay gratification.
Then the authors examined the poverty in the US, the left behind people on rusty belt and found the people there lack of the triple package. Well the cause of the poverty is the industry and manufacturing jobs decline, the authors argued, the lack of triple package prevent them from moving forward.
When America was founded, it had three package, because Americans were European exiles, in a way, America was like the Israel today. As America gains great prosperity, it lost insecurity. America has been blamed low self esteem for everything. As a result, self esteem was planted to everyone without any effort, along with the youthful culture, Americans lost self control. To recover from its instant gratification disorder, the authors argued, America should recover its triple package.
