Mark Cuban(马克·库班 ) is the owner of Dallas (达拉斯)Mevericks, a professional basketball team. He is also an entrepreneur, who invested and set up more than 150 companies. He is also a mentor (导师)of the startup reality show Shark Tank《创智赢家》 . In an interview with Tencent's "Fortune appoints you(财约你)", Kuban shared his understanding of entrepreneurship (创业)and his suggestions to entrepreneurs.
In Cuban's view, everyone can be an entrepreneur, and the problem is that most people are dishonest to themselves, "not everyone will really spend their energy learning ". For example, when some people feel that they have come up with a great idea and a passion for doing things, they will talk to their friends trying to get some feedback to make sure they can realize their dreams. Starting to do this, what they need to know is the whole industry, the financial operation and marketing of the company, but at this time they think of financing(融资), "Financing is not an achievement, but a responsibility. Whoever invests in you, they want a return. Cuban takes basketball as an example: "You have do a series of things, such as dribbling(运球), pitching(投球), passing, defending, etc.A player must be good at at at least one of them, but asfor entrepreneurship, you must be excel in many things, because there are always people in the market who are very good at these things."
Cuban spends at least three to four hours a day reading. He believes that the problem for many people is that they don't spend time studying. New things in different fields can benefit people a lot, such as interactive technology (交互技术)nanotechnology(纳米技术), nervous system(神经系统)and so on in the field of technology, . It is not difficult to understand if you take the time to study.
Cuban's advice to entrepreneurs is to find what you like to do and turn it into something you're good at. If you like to do something and are skilled in it, you will not give it up easily. When you are expert in doing something, ask yourself if you can turn it into an entrepreneurship project, so that you can continue to accumulate experience in your work and become more good at it. "If you see something very profitable, but you don't know how to make it, then you will Never succeed."
Above all are Mark Cuban's understanding and suggestions on entrepreneurship.
