3月9日;
诗篇 131;
唱诗:诗篇 131: 1, 2, 3;

THE MYSTERY OF FORGIVENESS
"...I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me.But I have stilled and quieted my soul.." (Psalm 131:1-2)
En route, we are sometimes plagued by feelings of hopelessness.How can God ever forgive me? My sins are so abundant and gruesome; I am a lost cause.
Among the many mysteries of which the Bible speaks is the mystery of forgiveness. Remember, a mystery is something that was previously hidden but has been fully revealed in Christ. We do not understand how God can and does forgive us, but we know that this is granted to us in Christ Jesus.
In Psalm 131, we read in poetic terms how wonderful it is to embrace the mystery of forgiveness. The Psalmist says, "I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me..." We cannot understand God's forgiveness, but we simply accept the truth and trust in him.
Psalm 131follows Psalm 130. That is logical, right? Psalm 130 is the song of a sinner who cries out of the depths and begs God not to keep a record of sins. Psalm 130 was sung when the sacrifice was burnt: ".…with you there is forgiveness.." God has unfailing love and full redemption for us.
In Psalm 131, we confess how much hope this gives us. We will never understand the mystery of forgiveness.But we do believe it. It is very clear to us now because the great sacrifice was given at Golgotha. This is our hope in life, and it stills and quiets our soul.
Questions: What are the "great matters" and "things too wonderful" mentioned by the writer in Psalm 131:1? Explain the relation between forgiveness and humility.
