DSE English Paper 2 Part A Pract
Course Evaluation Questionaire: Music Course
Why did you want to take this course?
I wanted to take this course because I am fond of singing, playing the piano, and songwriting simultaneously. I wanted to make friends with classmates that have similar interests. In addition, I wanted to develop my singing skills as well. Though I had never system learnt to sing, I was still attracted by the opera stage, and I wish someday I may perform perfect songs written by myself by singing and playing the instrument. I heard that the music teachers in this course are all professionals in singing, and I believe that they can fulfil my wish, so I took this course.
What did you like best about this course?
I like the atmosphere here best. After attending the class, I found that most of the classmates taking the lesson already had some music skills, and they wished to explore new facets of music, just like what I wanted to do. Some of them play the guitar, some of them sing opera, and one or two of them even know how to play B-box. I thought they were talented and felt satisfied talking to them. We learnt a lot in this course together because the teachers here were equipped with various talents in music and always had new skills to teach. This course was a music paradise.
What changes would you recommend to improve this course?
Though I do love the learning atmosphere here very much - students own different skills so they could cooperate with others for better performance, the diversity of students' knowledge area also led to a problem, that is, what the teacher taught could not be suitable for every student, so some learners wasted their time to accompany their coursemates while the teacher was explaining something they were not interested in or something they had already known. The diversity of students' music levels also made the teachers' work even more difficult: some students could only understand very basic theory, while others hoped to explore senior areas. The course should be divided into smaller classes.
