Two-Phase Tube Calculator
The output of this calculator is the pressure drop per unit length given per bar/km. This digital output must be multiplied by the equivalent length of the total pressure drop across the length of the tube to calculate the length of the tube. The total equivalent length of the tube obtained by the length of the straight tube of the equivalent length of all the tubes.
The pressure drop per unit length of the pipe based on the Lockhart-Martinelli Method is calculated for the calculator given below.
The pressure caused by the loss of energy when the fluid flows in the tube is reduced. This energy loss is caused by overcoming the internal friction force when the fluid flows and overcoming the collision and exchange of momentum between the fluid particles at the time of turbulence, which is caused by a pressure difference, that is, a pressure drop, before and after the fluid flow.
The magnitude of the pressure drop varies with the flow rate within the tube.
