Last Saturday, I hosted a routine gathering of Reader’s  Club in Chengdu. We were honored to have Professor Li as our key speaker,  whose lecturing topic was "The Retrogression of Our Justice  System." From the very beginning, I have to pay my admiral attention to  his professional manner. His confidence summoned all attentions in the room  where hundreds of audience were expecting something new from him. Following a  short opening greeting, Prof. Li called attentions with a touching story of a  civil rights lawyer. Then, with smooth transition to the main course, he gave  many statistic figures, comparisons and results of social researches to support  his main theme. To finalize, hesummarizeshis points with simple, clear but strong words.  However, one thing he could have done differently, I think, was to use visual  aids. Few pictures, bar graphs, flowcharts or pie charts would have given  more analytical thoughts. And more%%, had he given a big finishing, for  example, calling for actions or providing solutions to the problems, the  speech would have been more successful.
