Thought:

Mom and Abel got married while Trevor registered Abel was a sinister demon. Not surprisingly, Mom realized Abel was like an exotic bird collector, who only wanted a woman who was free because his dream was to put her in a cage. Mom had always been independent, self-sufficient, but she’d lost that part of herself at the mercy of Abel's failed dream. However, even lost part of herself, she also continued to bear the Abel's violence. So did Trevor. Even Trevor did most of the service on a car, he was still beat by Abel. 

It’s easy to be judgmental about family violence when you live in a world wealthy enough to be removed from it. Unluckily, Trevor and his mom lived in Africa. Cops and laws don't help them. More unluckily, nowadays, most women and children in most countries are still at the mercy of family violence, like my motherland. Maybe poverty is the original sin
