The united states now has the most confimed cases in the world after teating a total of more than 2.8 million people. And that comes as all 50 states have now declared a disaster for the first time in US history. New York state the first in the  country to issue such a declaration is still the hardest hit. It is over 30% of the total infractions in the US. But the government's top infectious diseases expert says the country may be ready to start gradually reopening next month as there are signs that the coronavirus pandemic is peaking.
