I love you Wuhan
I was born in a beautiful river city in China named Wuhan, and many times I dream about my birthplace. Today, I still carry memories of my homeland around with me because these fond recollections linger with me like a kind of homesickness, leaving me dejected. My hometown has changed so much that I can hardly recognize it, but I miss it so much no matter how much it has changed.

Wuhan, a city located in Central China, lies where the Yangtze and Han Rivers meet. The world's third longest river, the Yangtze River, and its greatest branch, the Hanshui River, flow across the city and divide it into three parts, which is naturally composed of three towns named Hankou, Hanyang, and Wuchang. In fact, Wuhan translates as charming river city, and is about the size of Chicago, Illinois. Many lakes and rivers pass through the city, which is very beautiful and big. Also, Wuhan is the capital of the Hubei Province, with an area of 3,280 square miles, and a population of 8,313 million.
Wuhan is recognized for its industrial, scientific, cultural, and educational centers in China. Wuhan is comprehensive with large and medium sized cities in China, like Beijing and Shanghai. In this river city, bridges are important for everyone in daily life. Wuhan Yangtze Bridge is the first bridge in Wuhan and runs across the Yangtze River. It was opened in 1957 been standing there for sixty-two years. When this bridge is up, it is open to traffic and when down it is for trains. It is important because the bridge connects three towns together,Wuchang, Hankou, Hanyang. It is easy for urban traffic and transporting facilities. The sight of the bridge prompts thoughts of my distant birthplace, awakening my recollection. Not only is the bridge a symbol to me, but also the sight of it recalls the days of my childhood. Wuhan Yangtze Bridge has grown old now, and I do not know how many times I pass through this bridge. I also have a memory from when I was 6 years old and my family took a picture under this bridge. I take this picture with me every place I go. I wish time can go back, but it cannot.

Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge is for local people’s life and it’s history is equally important. After when Mao swam across the Yangtze River, this place became very famous because Chairman Mao was seventy-two years old. Mao swam from Wuchang to Hanko. For this reason, from 1966-1978 on July 16th, many people swam across for the Yangtze River Festival to celebrate this special event.

Since I left my hometown, every time I arrive to Wuhan, for the moment, the first thing I see from my airplane is Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge, and in the hometown I always dream about. Many times my tears on my-- face, finally I am back. Seeing the bridge is like recalling my past memories, the many thing that happened in my past, and many special events around Yangtze River Bridge will stay with me forever and will bring a glorious vision of future for me.
Wuhan is one of the major big city in China, it is with three towns all developing differently moving towards different goals: one is famous for shopping, one is famous for education, and one is famous for business. Hanko is the town that has been zoned as a shopping area. There are many famous good restaurants in the downtown area. Whenever I return to my hometown, I will go for shopping and for eating famous good food around there:Three Delicacies Toku Skin, Hot Dry Noodles and so on. I always remember many of these delicious food items available in that town. Wuchang is a place for higher education, bringing up good opportunities for everyone to realize their dreams. Hayang is the industrial district town, which can help promote the city business grown up. Wuhan which includes these three towns, develops rapidly each year, eventually everything looks like Chicago.
I like new changes for Wuhan, but I miss old Chinese culture. I think for the city Wuhan culture and new opportunities are equally important. Western culture brings new thing to Wuhan, and the city can continue to make progress in the future. Wuhan right now is opening the city to the world; everybody has opportunities to do the all kinds business in Wuhan. In the city Wuhan many workers come from different countries. Also American companies, and restaurants, are all over the Wuhan; Ford Motor Company, Sam’s club, Walmart,McDonald, and KFC restaurants, for example many companies are in Wuhan from the other countries. Overall the world is very close together, because business is connection.
Language is communications for each other, learn English is important for everyone. Wuhan my hometown connect to the world need more English teachers. Education is important. Wuhan is a higher education town, here many English educators from all over the world work for universities. Business activities connect the world, so English learning is especially important for people’s life now.
Certainly, there’s no way I can go back to my hometown, the only way to return is to dream about Wuhan. All the memories will enshrined in my heart forever, this life experience will forward to my future life.
