坚持英语学习打卡 之 翻译篇（27）
今日翻译打卡第27天，完成2007年5月二笔真题汉译英部分。这两篇文章分别介绍了中国四川大熊猫自然保护区的情况以及能源与中国经济发展的关系。
订正时参考了官方译文和韩刚老师译文，需要注意数字的翻译。
1.四川从今年开始将新建三个大熊猫自然保护区，使全省的大熊猫自然保护区达到40个，以确保50%左右的大熊猫栖息地和60%左右的野生大熊猫个体分布在保护区内。
一般译法：Sichuan is going to build three new nature reserves for giant pandas from this year on, which will make the total number reach 40 to ensure nearly 50% of habitats for giant pandas and about 60% of wild pandas included in the nature reserves.
优质译法：Three new nature reserves for giant pandas are to be added to the existing protection network in Sichuan from this year. These new shelters will, once in place, bring the total number of natural refuges for the endangered species to 40 in the southwestern province of China. All the conservation areas promise to cover 50% of all habitats of giant pandas, providing shelter for roughly 60% of the wild population.
技巧点拨：这段原文涉及到一些数字，不容易处理。第二种译法进行了拆分，把一句话分成了三句进行翻译，并使用了增译，添加了主语，例如these new shelters以及all the conservation areas.
另外，注意语言的多样性，翻译“自然保护区”时，第二句译文使用了nature reserve, the existing protection network, shelter, natural refuge和conservation area五种不同的表达方式，所以说明积累同义替换词汇的重要性。
2.目前，四川省共有37个大熊猫自然保护区，占地200多万公顷，其中国家级大熊猫自然保护区11个。
一般译法：At present, there are 37 nature reserves for giant pandas in Sichuan Province, covering over two million hectares. Among all the nature reserves, 11 are in the national level.
优质译法：At the moment, Sichuan is home to 37 nature reserves dedicated to giant pandas, 11 of which are state-level. These sanctuaries cover a combined area of over 2 million hectares.
技巧点拨：注意适当调整语序，实现句子意思的连贯性。另外，“有”一般都会译为there be句式，本句中用到了be home to可以借鉴，“国家级”译为state-level，“公顷”译为hectare.
3.全省大熊猫栖息地面积达到177万公顷，占全国的775%。
优质译法：Habitat area of giant pandas in the province stands at 1.77 million hectares, accounting for 77% of the national total.
技巧点拨：注意Stand的用法，stand at可以“处于....水平，是...”，例如The inflation rate now stands at 3.6 percent.（通货膨胀率现在是3.6％）。Account for表示“解释...原因，占...比例”，后半句用到了现在分词结构。
4.纵观人类社会发展的历史，人类文明的每一次发重大进步都伴随着能源的改进和更替。
优质译法：Over the entire history of mankind, each and every significant step in the progress of human civilization has been accompanied by energy innovations and substitutions.
