Gender equality

06/20/2017

1. Emma Watson

I want to write something about writing. I find that what I read and remember is salient. Because when I try to utter my ideas by writing, I can only write something that I have unconsciously or consciously remembered. So I have to deliberately read. When I read something great, I will copy them in my mind.

Today, I read something great by Emma Watson. 'If not me? Who? If not now? When?' We have to take responsibility for defending his or her right that men and women are born to be equal.

I knew Emma Watson by watching Harry Potter. She is a smart and brave witch in the movie. She is also a great woman in daily life. Her speech on gender equality at the United Nations Headquarters was inspirational. Being a feminist will put you in bad situation. So she turned her angle about women's rights. It's not just women but also men. As she had said:

I want men to take up this mantle. So their daughters, sisters and mothers can be free from prejudice, but also so that their sons have permission to be vulnerable and human too—reclaim those parts of themselves they abandoned, and in doing so be a more true and complete version of themselves.

Believing man should be persistent and strong, men with mental illness are not willing to ask for help because they fear it would make them look less of a man. That can be one of reasons of suicide. So we should accept that it's normal for men to show their vulnerability and humanity.

2. three moments of joy

11/30

Moment 1: Chatting is happy. I had chat with my best friend.

Moment 2: Life still full of hope. I hope I can get an offer.

Moment 3: I had a phone with my father. I can feel kindness through mobilephone. It's a kind of new experience for me. But I love it.
