For a better tomorrow, certainly we should reform our  city’s energy consuming patterns. Everybody knows that renewable energy is  the therapy. If you ask what type of renewable energy is currently the best  choice for Shenzhen, I would say solar energy. As a metropolis of southern  China, Shenzhen enjoys more than 200 sunny days in a year, and 20°C or above  of annual average daily temperatures. The weather assures that solar energy  is good enough for economically effective sunray harvesting. Sunray farming  is to use solar panels to absorb solar energy from sunrays. Photons are  transformed into conduction electrons, and the energy is converted into  thermal or electrical energy which could directly supply for businesses and  houses in the city. Solar-panels vary in sizes, shapes and functions, making  it possible for us to harvest sunrays on roofs and outside walls of city  buildings. In that way, the city will support the project with ready and  available places and spaces. Regardless the higher cost for the solar panels  and their installations and maintenance, the cost per unit of generated  energy is very close to that of other types of renewable energy. The  differences are negligible, as I see it. To implement this project now  requires a budget from our city as high as $120,000. If we carefully evaluate  the advantages and disadvantages, we will find that solar energy harvesting  is the most profitable project for renewable energy for a long run, expecting  that prices of solar panels will go down continually.
