有的希图现世的光荣；

Some for the Glories of This World; and some

Sigh for the Prophet's Paradise to come;

Ah, take the Cash, and let the Credit go,

Nor heed the rumble of a distant Drum!

[注释]（1） Cash是现金，Credit是债券，Credit即指第一句的“现世的光荣”，故意译成“浮名”。

（2） 远方的鼓音（a distant Drum）：宫殿之外的大鼓。——此句是承说上文的天国。
