Babies
What’s happiness? Have you ever thought about that and do you really know what makes you happy? Today I went to the immigration bureau of JP for visa updating and there were many people there with different requirements. If you couldn't understand what people mountain people sea means then go there and you would instantly know. You can see not only mountain people but different races and different kinds, foreigner, local person, women, men, children, elderly. You name it, it's there. They were using different languages to talk to each other not even minding the noise they were making. When I went there, I thought I was not in JP. The children were crying non stop, a mother would bring two or even more children with her to wait there but I didn't want to wait with them because I didn't want to miss my number. Once I have taken a seat, I wanted to find something to kill time while waiting so I took a book from my bag. I haven't started reading the book yet, I heard someone laughing so I looked up to check what's happening. I was touched when I saw a girl smiling at me and she said "Would you like to play with me?" Then I just smiled back. Whereas, I noticed that there were two women beside her, one is elder and has a pale skin, maybe that's her grandmother and the other one was sitting and holding a young boy that was eating. At the meantime, the mother was not eating but just feeding the boy with noodles and green salad. The two older children were eating by themselves and playing. 10 minutes later, they finished their lunch. At that moment, I thought why do they have so many babies. If they can have one or two then the children would have better condition. In China, we have two-children policy and as a Chinese, I couldn't really understand this and I think it's a little scornful. While I was pondering on my thought, I saw the mom gave a kiss to each baby and said with a big smile "My angels, mom loves you all" and the children did the same. When I saw that unfolding in front of my eyes, it felt like the time stopped and everything happened in a slow motion. The warm sunlight hit her face and I totally understood what happiness means. Happiness is not all about money, it's not all about the material things but it's the love we give and receive from our family.
