Greetings from South Florida!
I moved to a different office today. Our offices are going to be renovated in the next few months. Our area is in the first phase that have to be vacated so that the workers can do their jobs. I have been packing, cleaning and moving stuff to the temporary office.
And to make things worse, I will have to share the same office with another person, who liked to talk on the phone a lot. Fortunately, the management office promised that the work will be done within three weeks.
Why do they decide to renovate the offices again? Didn't they just do that only like two years ago? I think this is just a waste of money and our productivity since this has definitely interrupted our work.
I guess this is also why the office buildings or any other buildings for that matter are maintained so well. Behind these nice and shiny offices, there was a lot of up keeping involved. I shouldn't have complained about these since our work environment has been always great. It's better to maintain older buildings than demolish them prematurely and rush to build new ones.
My point is, it's better to keep well-maintained older infrastructures we have than rush to demolish them and build all new ones. It's wasting of energy and nature resources, and bad for the environment. For example, in my hometown, many new skyscrapers have been built. But buildings as new as 30 years old have been demolished to make room for new developments. This kind of urban development is not sustainable.
Have a nice Wednesday! Cheers!
