to buy someone's share of a business or property that you previously owned together, so that you have complete control 买断股权

原文：We would buy out our board of directors.

另外，这本书中有大量邮件，公司文稿等等，读起来特别快。同时也检验了下自己英文邮件的写作能力。

关于public speech, Tony 分享了他的经验。从最初花长时间写稿，背诵，惧怕公开演讲，到摸索自己的演讲章法三则：

Be passionate.

Tell personal stories.

Be real.

虽然自己没有公开演讲的经验，但经常听Ted演讲，如果能做到这三点，还是挺不容易，投入，会讲故事，真实。

Zappos的命运

Sequoia于2005第一次注资Zappos的时候，就预示着有可能五年后通过Ipo或者收购等方式买掉Zappos来获利。但是Tony不想卖掉公司。

Tony知道凭一己之力无法对抗董事会，对抗的结果可能是被董事会扫地出门，直接拿掉CEO的头衔。

Tony和Alfred,Fred仨个人想到了一个解决方案，那就是：

We would buy out our board of directors.

Tony他们会成功吗？
