- Early evaluations have been the basis of blueberry breeding program, although its implementation may be limited for traits with low heritability (Bernardo 1991) or when genetic correlations between precocious and mature traits are unknown. (Cellon et al., 2018)
- APO1 positively regulates spikelet number by suppressing the precocious conversion of inflorescence meristems to spikelet meristems. (Xing, Zhang, 2010)
- Circumstantial evidence for their involvement in dehydration tolerance is strong: The genes are similar to many of those expressed in vegetative tissues of drought-stressed plants (Table 3), and desiccation treatments can often induce precocious expression in seeds. (Ingram, Bartels, 1996)
- The Furneaux Group, especially the southern islands, and Lighthouse (14), were by far the most precocious flowering regions (Fig. 2d). (Dutkowski, Potts, 1999)
- A Southern Furneaux sub-race was recognised, largely because of its differentiation in the LAMGEX data, which is probably a result of its more precocious flowering (Fig. 2d) and smaller juvenile leaves (Fig. 2e). (Dutkowski, Potts, 1999)
- The Wilsons Promontory Lighthouse race is characterised by extremely slow growth, precocious flowering, thick bark, low pilodyn penetration, low drought and Phoracantha resistance, early transition to adult foliage and anomalous leaf morphology. (Dutkowski, Potts, 1999)
- Reactions were normalized as in Hecht et al (2011) and the t test between mean values for precocious and normal phase change phenotypes was conducted as described above. (Hudson et al., 2014)
- To investigate the genetic basis of phenotypic differences between the precocious and normal ecotypes of E. globulus, we first conducted QTL analyses using a large outcross F2 pedigree (n = 467) designed specifically to maximize segregation of ecotypic differences. (Hudson et al., 2014)
