• rival

• prize
Mung bean, said to heal almost every illness, were most prized in China. (在中国，据说绿豆能治百病而深受喜爱。）
• judging from /by
Judging from how much time she spent in homework, I can understand her normal performance in exam. (从她花多少时间在功课上，我就理解她为啥只有一般的成绩了。）
• determine
Hard working mostly determines the performances. （努力往往能决定成绩）
• prompt
High pride largely prompts his continuous improving in spoken English. （高自尊大大地促进了他持续练习英文口语。）
