#字词篇
1. When Mom got up to go to the bathroom, Dad stuffed a bunch of pillows under the blanket on his side of the bed to make it look like he was asleep.
stuff作名词是“东西，物品”的意思。做动词讲是“填充，塞满，装满…”，作形容词讲还有“毛织品做的…”的意思
毛绒玩具就可以说成stuffed toy
on one's side of the bed是一个非常好用的表达，尤其是对于固定睡一边的people来说
造句：I put all my stuffed toys on the other side of my bed.
2. ...and Dad and I bumped into Bill on the way out of the door today.
bump into 这里就是偶遇的意思。
同义表达还可以说come across, run into, encounter...
造句：I came across my junior high school classmate today on my way home.
3. Rodrick is going to see Bill as some kind of role model, and that Rodrick will want to follow in Bill's footsteps.
see...as = regard...as把……当作/认为/看作……
follow in one's footsteps: to do the same thing as someone else did previously
造句：My younger brother saw Yao Ming as his role model, and he decided to follow in his footsteps in the future.

must have done是情态动词表推测的一种形式，只用于肯定句中，表示对过去发生的事情或状态的肯定推测。
hear the music coming out of...这里的coming out of 是现在分词做伴随状语
get drawn to something: to attract someone or something in
a light中的light不是光线的意思，而是可数名词“光源”
造句：I thought my younger brother must have failed his math exam.

Every time my younger brother bumps into something embarrassing he will just come and kiss my butt, expecting I can do something to get him off the hook. So whenever I see him coming, it puts me in a bad mood because I'm afraid that will make him follow in some irresponsible ones' footsteps. You know my younger brother was super good at math when he was in primary school. However that didn't really work out for his junior high school life. He failed his math final-term-exam twice in a row. And this time I will just let the whole stuff alone, and never help him cheat my folks any more.
