倾点和凝点是衡量润滑油低温流动性的常规指标。同一油品的倾点比凝点略高几度,过去常用凝点,现在国际通用倾点。
倾点或凝点偏高,油品的低温流动性就差。凝点高的润滑油不能在低温下使用,相反,在气温较高的地区也没有必要使用凝点低的润滑油。因为润滑油的凝点越低,其生产成本越高,造成不必要的浪费。
要特别说明的是,在选用低温的润滑油时,应结合油品的凝点、低温黏度及黏温特性综合考虑。但评估多级内燃机润滑油、车辆齿轮油的低温性能时。应以低温动力黏度、边界泵送温度、成沟点为主要参数。
