Confucius, also known as Master K'ung, was born in 551B.C. in the state of Lu, in the southern part of the present Shantung provinve in eastern China. Due to political troubles, the position of his family descended from nobles to common people. According to Historical Records, Confucius met many toubles and lacked success in his life. Nevertheless, it cannot shake the position among Chinese teachers.
